What is spray foam insulation?

With foamed-in-place insulation it is relatively easy to fill wall and ceiling cavities completely, providing high R-values (starting at 3.6 per inch and upward) and blocking air leakage very effectively.  It functions as an air barrier and as thermal and sound insulation.
Installation requires special equipment and must be done by licensed contractors. Open-cell, low-density polyurethane foams have been produced with water as the blowing agent for some time.

These  types of foam insulation have no harmful effects on the Earth’s stratospheric ozone layer and contain no formaldehyde, CFCs, HCFCs,  nor VOCs. Some of the low-density foam products are made in part from bio-based raw materials in place of petrochemicals. Progressive Insulation uses foams that use blowing agents that are non-ozone depleting.

How is spray foam insulation installed?

Progressive Insulation sprays a two part foam onto any open surface and studded wall to the desired specifications.  In some instances foam can be sprayed into existing wall cavities.

With any open surface, open cell foam can be sprayed on once electrical and plumbing services are in place. Our half pound foams then expand to 100 times its initial volume in seconds, permanently adhering to the surfaces of the surrounding building materials and sealing all gaps.
